Codarts trekt Marc Jonkers aan als Artistiek Coördinator Talentontwikkeling

Codarts, Hogeschool voor de Kunsten in Rotterdam heeft theaterdansspecialist Marc Jonkers aangetrokken als Artistiek Coördinator Talentontwikkeling. Zijn opdracht is te onderzoeken in hoeverre werving, selectie, instroom en scholing van bijzonder getalenteerde kinderen en jongeren, met name op het gebied van dans, muziektheater en circus, efficiënter en effectiever kunnen plaatsvinden. Het betreft hier vooral het traject dat doorgaans wordt aangeduid als 'vooropleiding'.

Winter Newsletter 2009

These are the last couple of days in 2009 so its time for our annual report on activities this year.
January Jan started teaching for 2 weeks at the Hennie Jurriens Foundation in Amsterdam. In the second week he also taught classes at Dansgroep Amsterdam. This new company is under the artistic direction of Krisztina de Châtel and Itzik Galili. After Amsterdam Jan was back in Lisbon to start working with Companhia Nacional de Bailado (CNB), the National Ballet of Portugal. Jan is responsible for the full-length classical productions of this company, besides teaching daily class. The first production he restaged and rehearsed was „Coppelia“ as choreographed by John
Auld, sets and costumes by Peter Farmer. In between setting and rehearsing Jan went to Saarbrücken/Germany for 2 weeks in February, to teach with the Maggie Donlon Dance Company. The rest of February and March he spent in Lisbon working on Coppelia. The premiere was celebrated on the 19th of April in Teatro Camoes in Lisbon and it was performed in a series of 16 performances.

We are half way into 2009 and it has been a different year so far.

In January Jan started to teach 2 weeks with the Hennie Jurriens Foundation in Amsterdam and in his second week he also taught class at the new Dansgroep Amsterdam. This Company is now under artistic direction of Krizstina de Chatel and Itzik Galili.

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

we are half way into 2008 and its time to give you a update on our activities.
In January Jan was back teaching Companhia Nacional de Bailado in Lisbon/Portugal.
It was a nice welcome back to a company, now under the new Artistic Direction of Vasco Wellenkamp, that Jan worked with until 2002.

Marc gave a reading on the history of modern Dance for the students of the Professional School of Dance Maastricht (VDM) in January. On the 27th of January in Muziekgebouw aan het IJ, Amsterdam: the presentation of the book “Dick Raaijmakers Monografie” (Monograph) from Arjen Mulder and Joke Brouwer took place, published by NAi Publishers, Rotterdam 2007. Within this framework the reconstruction was presented of Grafische Methode Fiets (Graphical Method Bicycle),
a performance concept from composer Dick Raaijmakers, originally performed in 1979 and 1980 by Marc Jonkers, representing Studio Anne Walsemann. www.naipublishers.nl/kunst/raaijmakers_e.html ).
